Subject Description
This subject will seek to develop studentsí knowledge and skills in regard to evidence-based critical employability competencies. Specific topic areas will include: verbal and written communication, teamwork, conflict management, emotional intelligence, resilience, empathy, being a reflective lifelong learner, negotiation, time management, professional integrity, problem solving, initiative and motivation. It will examine these topic area and their application in a global work context through authentic tasks, problem and case-based learning. Students will compile a portfolio of generic employability and graduate related resources that will result in a toolkit that can be used in their future career contexts.


Subject Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1. Explain and apply knowledge and skills in regard to evidence-based critical employability competencies;
2. Critically review, analyse and synthesise information;
3. Exercise critical thinking and independent problem solving in relation to authentic workplace problems, scenarios and cases;
4. Communicate knowledge, ideas and opinions clearly and coherently to others;
5. Describe how employability competencies can manifest in a professional work context;
