Subject Description
Enterprise governance of IT resources and non-IT resources (including proper use of IT and management of project teams) plays a critical role in achieving business goals and enabling efficiency gains or competitive advantage. This subject explores IT governance theory and practice, including effective IT project governance and roles of IT governance in large-scale IT-enabled change initiatives. Students learn advanced skills in analysis, synthesis and evaluation of various IT governance arrangements as well as complex organizational issues which influence processes and outcomes of developing, monitoring and managing effective IT governance initiatives and related change projects in todayís dynamically changing business environment.

Subject Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1. Analyze, synthesize and evaluate theory and practices of IT governance from a business perspective.
2. Analyze the way IT governance and organizational issues influence organizational capability to create business value from IT investments as well as through conformance and responsibility.
3. Critically evaluate the evidence of effective or ineffective IT governance arrangements in organizations.
4. Design and evaluate the organizationís IT governance structures and processes.
5. Communicate their knowledge and understanding of IT governance in a way which would be effective when dealing with business managers.
