Subject Description
This subject aims to provide students with the essential managerial skills and knowledge required to effectively manage engineering projects. Students will develop proficiency with the application of a range of concepts, techniques and analytical tools relating to the knowlege areas of project scope, resources, time, cost, risk and contracts management. Additionally, the subject introduces students to the ongoing challenges around the management of stakeholder expectations, various technical and social interfaces and the impact of organisational and environmental factors on successful project delivery.

Subject Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate an appreciation of the contribution of effective management of engineering projects to achieving organisational goals and meeting stakeholder expectations.
2. Identify key management processes, stakeholders, as well as organisational and environmental factors relating to the management of engineering projects.
3. Demonstrate proficiency in applying a range of project management concepts, tools and techniques to facilitate the delivery of desired outcomes in engineering projects.
4. Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the limitations of traditional project management techniques and ways of addressing those limitations.
5. Demonstrate the competencies (knowledge, skills and attributes) required to effectively engage in/contribute to an engineering project through a case study of a real world project.
