Subject Description
LHA003 is a studio based Visual Arts masterclass designed to support a student's creative practice and support them to further develop their HSC major work. The subject is designed around a series of intensive and dynamic studio workshops taught by professional practicing artists to support the development of studio projects. The aim of the subject is to enable the development of the studentís creative practice through both skill and concept development, material experimentation and through individual mentoring sessions with the lecturer. The studios offered will vary depending on the lecturersí field of expertise and their availability however examples of the workshops taught could include drawing, painting, video & photography. A selection of the completed project work will be exhibited in the TAEM gallery at the end of the program.


Subject Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1. develop strategies for developing and resolving visual ideas in response to the development of their minor project
2. deepen their interpretative and critical skills in reviewing their work through comparison with relevant contemporary artists
3. deepen their fluency in researching contemporary arts practices through discussions of the HSC key frames
