Subject Description
This subject involves undertaking a project. Where possible the projects are related to the research interests of the School and/or staff and are chosen to develop the student's research skills. Each student is required to deliver an oral seminar and to prepare a final thesis on the result of the work undertaken.


Subject Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1. Critically analyse the body of literature concerning a specific ICT question or problem.
2. Devise a research method or methods to resolve that question or problem.
3. Apply the devised method in a rigorous manner, recording results.
4. Analyse those results and thereby resolve the question or problem.
5. Present the various stages of this process in a scholarly fashion, which will include a formal thesis and may include a seminar, a poster or both.

Generic Extra Information:
To enrol in ISIT998, a minimum final grade of 65% will be required for ISIT940 along with a successful formulation of a research proposal with enrolment agreement from the supervisor and the degree coordinator.
